This article I found one afternoon was the most important that I have found to date of my direct family lineage. I had been working (in vain it seemed) with a copy of my family tree from my Grandpa K L Partain’s Bible to try and find my line. I came across this and about passed out in the asile of the state archives at the Salt Lake City Family History Library. (Apparently this sort of thing is common at the library, as not a soul blinked an eye as I slid to the ground clutching the book). The John E. Partain listed in the first paragraph turned out to be my fourth great grandfather, and after 15 years of research I am fairly certain that Robert Partin was indeed my 9th great grandfather.
